Luke:
My favourite part of filming during my time in Saudi Arabia for the Alshaya shoot was waking up before sunrise and driving out to the desert to get sunrise drone footage. It was so beautiful and I feel very lucky that I got to experience this first-hand and have video evidence to constantly remind me of the experience.
Another moment that stood out to me was the first time I experienced the boardwalk and just how many billboards and lights there were, you can tell that in Saudi Arabia they do things to the max or not at all.

Work has seen me back and forth to the Kingdom, as well as Doha, many times over the years. Every time providing something new, an ever changing region with an increasing interest in employer branding and the important role it has to play. From research and immersion tours, leadership presentations, video shoots or launch events. Every visit brings a fantastic experience and knowledge that is so much more than any one project.
Kuba:
Our immersion involved visits to Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam, where we experienced the most incredible hospitality, care and kindness from the people of Alshaya, who not only welcomed us into their workplace, but their personal lives too, and completely shattered our western perceptions of the country.
The boulevard in Riyadh, is a gigantic shopping complex just outside of the city where multiple generations of Saudis gathered each night to eat, socialise, and create new memories - a powerful illustration of how retail was playing a pivotal role in the Kingdom’s cultural transformation.
